This is an introductory textbook on Business Management designed for undergraduate, diploma and foundation-level Business students.

The textbook consists of 11 chapters which explore key topics from a local perspective. It is written in a systematic, comprehensive and accessible manner, incorporating the latest developments, statistics and local examples to enhance students’ grasp of how businesses are managed in today’s competitive global environment. The chapters contain relevant diagrams to promote the comprehension and retention of concepts learned.

This edition includes coverage on the Islamic economic system, Malaysia’s economy and its performance for 2015–2018, the government support available for businesses in Malaysia, the critical considerations in selecting a business and steps to register a business in Malaysia, the contributions of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) globally and locally, and the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). Chapters 9 and 10—on marketing, and financial information and accounting, respectively—have also been revamped to provide students with a better understanding of the topics covered. Each chapter concludes with a summary and glossary, new and revised questions for discussion, case studies, and a list of references and suggested reading.
